HOW DO I FIX SINGER SERGE WHEN IT SERGE'S A COUPLES INCHES THEN THE FABRIC JAMS?

Un-thread and re thread according to the instruction manual.

Some sergers have to be threaded in the exact order as explained in the manual.

Usually it is the lower looper that causes problems.

Sergers are easy to clean and do this often. Canned air, brush or vacuum.

By ';fabric jams';, do you mean that the fabric gets pulled down into the loopers? Is the knife dull or not locked in place? Are you trimming enough seam allowance?

Otherwise the most likely scenario is that you've got a misthreaded machine or slightly bent needles, or you may have knocked one of the loopers out of position, causing mistiming.

To test the knife, lay a single thread across the lower knife blade and use the handwheel to bring the upper knife down. If the thread is cut cleanly, the knife is fine. If the thread scoots forward, you've got a dull knife.
