What is the current divorce percentage among U.S. married couples?

At one point I had heard it was over 50%. Can anyone confirm this statement or provide a factual percentage? Thank you. What is the current divorce percentage among U.S. married couples?
It's lower than that but the divorce rate for FIRST marriages is at or above 50%.What is the current divorce percentage among U.S. married couples?
The problem is that it's not really tracked, and since every state handles their own marriages, it's not reported consistently. Here are some articles that suggest the figure is closer to one-third. Still not great, but much better than a 50/50 shot. These are long but well worth reading!

Lower than you'd think - it's 36% according to this article from last year:

Edit: sorry this link doesn't appear to work, so you'll have to go to google and search ';divorce rate in us'; and it's on the first page of the search.
