traditionally the first anniversary is a paper gift, that might not help but i thought you should know because you can work that into your trip somehow. (wrap yourself in paper and let him take it off...ect)
you could always find a nice hotel in the country bu a lake or something, it won't be exactly like a cabin but it it has a hot tub then that wont be a big deal.
good luck.For Married Couples: What did you do for your first anniversary/any ideas what to do for mine?
If you are looking for a cabin and jacuzzi, there are a lot of nice spots in Gatlinburg, TN.. I'm taking my wife there for a vacation in October.. :) Look it up, it's beautiful there, right next to the Smokey Mountains. And it's actually the second biggest wedding spot in the US, next to Las Vegas.
Now, for my first Anniversary, I took my wife out of town and got a really nice hotel. And when she was getting ready for bed, I spread rose petals all over the room and bed, lite candles and turned off the lights. I managed to hide all of that from my wife before and during the trip there.For Married Couples: What did you do for your first anniversary/any ideas what to do for mine?
we didn't do anything spectacular (really broke back then!!) anyway, we stayed home, unplugged the phone (we told everyone we were going out of town) rented a couple movies, got a bottle of champagne and had the same dinner we had the night we got married (got married in Reno) we had a pepperoni pizza and champagne by candlelight. and then of course we had our cake. i think out of all our anniversaries, this one was our most romantic...
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
Not sure where you are from, but, my husband and I go to a casino for the weekend every anniversary--usually they have great anniversary suites and romantic dinner--then we usually see a show and spend the night gambling a bit--in the morning we walk along the beach to have coffee-Happy Anniversary!!
I rented a suite at a beautiful casino
Went and put candles and ';smelly'; goods in the bathroom
Bought a pink ';sexy';
and waited for him there to get off of work.
(He thought we were just staying there to gamble..lol)
When he walked in he looked at me..shocked and told me he wanted to go gamble......
Hurt and CRUSHED I went along with it, but when we got back...............
And yes, I was MAD as a wet HORNET, he was just thinking that his present to me was a day away from kids and work and all the normal BS I have to deal with.
He was not being in anyway, uncaring. I just took it that way!
My story is a bit different. I actually left home and flew to where he lived so that our relationship could grow. Then after we got married, the first thing I said was ';Oh Joey, we should go back to China'; so I could see my family again and tell all my sisters (RUB IT IN THEIR FACES) that I would get married, and it was alot sooner then they ever did.
i wish i could help you with that, my wife and i have been married for 14 1/2 years and we have only been able to spend a night out for our aniversery 1 of those years and that was last year
