How many couples wait till marriage these days?

Both me and my longterm girlfriend are virgins, which for her was more of a choice and me was more bad luck before we started dating. At any rate, since I'm not going to cheat on her, we're both going to wait till we're married to go all the way.

It seems sometimes that we're the last of our kind, though. It'd be nice to hear that we're not the last ones not getting laid. How many people these days are still virgins when they marry? And of those that are, how many of those aren't blindly indoctrinated Bible-thumpers? We're both religious, but not zealotous in that kind of way.

How many of you were (or will be) virgins when you tied the knot? How many couples wait till marriage these days?
well its beeen three years for me...and we have decided to stay a virgin by choice unto we tie the knot(touchwood we do...)How many couples wait till marriage these days?
Ugh... I am utterly disgusted by the ';try before you buy'; mentality. Such is basically putting sex above romance and devotion. It's the same type who would likely leave a marriage if their 'sex life' became less dynamic. That's enough to make me puke outright.

Kudos to you for waiting, droid327.

I was and I got married at 30. It was not easy though, let me tell you. But I do not regret it.
I would guess less than 10%...that is really sad!! But I think that there are very few that actually wait till they are married these days. That doesn't make it right still, but it is just the way it is...If you have waited than I am SOOO proud of you! Way to go!
Not very many.
Very few if any. Like they say, never buy a car without test driving it, you may not like it once you're behind the wheel. But congrats to you.
probably more than you might think (especially world wide), but far less than a few years ago... and far less then a few years before that, going on and on..
I wasn't, sorry - since I believe sexual compatibility is key to a relationship, I'm more of a ';try before you buy'; sort of girl.

My husband was a virgin when we met, although we didn't wait until marriage (obviously, given my above philosophy).

No hollow assurances for you here, but I wanted to add to your sample size. :)
