Do you think birth control is a sin, or okay? Do you think the methods listed below would be okay between a married couple?
condoms, vasectomy, tubal ligation (tubes tied).
Thanks in advance for your reply!Christians--Birth Control/Vasectomy Between Married Couples? Okay or Sin?
I think that is between each person and the Lord to determine what is the best choice for them at the right time in their lives. At SOME point in time it seems wise and advantageous to take steps to prevent further pregnancies - either due to age, mental state, emotional stamina or others pertinent reasons that matter to that couple. To carelessly and haphazardly just let things HAPPEN when they will is rather careless in my opinion.
But everyone has to decide what is right for them. I think something like this being sinful would happen when someone makes a decision BASED on a solely SELFISH intent but either way, God judges our HEARTS and knows the reasoning behind what we do. THere is wisdom and there are selfish desires - so by which do we make these choices?
I had a T.L. after my 4th at age 36 - I knew I needed to be done with pregancy(s) and emotionally couldn't handle more children at that time. I knew the Lord knew this too and even though my husband really struggled with me making this decision at the time - in hindsight he is glad I decided to do this. BUT he wasn't happy with my choice at the time. BUT ultimately it was MY body, My choice and I was the one getting pregnant and carrying babies, not him and I felt good %26amp; right about my decision and still do some 16 years later.Christians--Birth Control/Vasectomy Between Married Couples? Okay or Sin?
according to YOUR religion, it is indeed a sin :
God’s Word says, “The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time... and come together again” (1 Cor.7:4,5). Do we say that it’s a “private matter,” and therefore the pastor should not teach this part of God’s Word, merely because it speaks of what is done in the privacy of the bedroom? Certainly not! All aspects of marriage need to be properly taught to the flock. The Lord’s people need to know how they are to behave, not only in public but even in their most private moments. For “the eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Prov.15:3). What occurs in the bedroom may be hidden from other men, but not from God; and the Christian couple are to glorify the Lord even there.
Maybe, instead of sinning, you should just forget about such an unrealistic religion.
I agree with what Andrew A said. Like my father and his wife, they dont use birth control and they have only had 3 children, 2 born the second died. Anyhow, they dont believe in birthcontrol and they only have 2 kids. Shes young too and they dont believe in that. and I really believe that God will do what has to be done. Let God do what God has to do. Even if you do a vacs you can still impregnate and birthcontrol in women has harmful side effects blood clots depression..etc. (read the insert) Personally for myself, I dont believe in bc or vacs. I am 28 and I got pregnant for the first time last year. God gives life when it is time and when it is the moment. Best of luck. :)
It is ok.
They are all ok.
When Adam and Eve were told to populate the earth they and their descendants did just that.
We no longer have to keep populating it if we choose not to,
Not only that, Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins. So the only sin there is now is the sin of unbelief.
If you do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God who wan born, suffered and died as a sacrifice for your sins and rose on the third day,
then you better worry because that is the only sin left in this world.
As long as you are doing one of the three you mention for non-selfish reasons and both husband and wife have prayed about it and have seriously considered the results.
James 4:17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
I think it's okay.
';Be fruitful and multiply';, was in the Hebrew section, anyway. There's enough Christians (and humans, overall) in the world to carry on the traditions, already.
If you take the Bible literally, any form of sex that isn't geared to reproduction is wrong. That pretty much kills the 'natural' methods of birth control. Sorry to those that think that's their 'out'.
I don't see a problem with it. I think it's a nit-picking discussion that has nothing to do with one's relationship with God and should be up to the couple to decide.
Yes and it is not a sin.
Birth control is between the husband and wife, man and woman in a relationship.
A sin , you are not trusting God to meet all your needs. Why use it ? Do you know more than God ? Proverbs 3:5 '; Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.';
Those of you who are about to say something about interfering with god's plan...
...consider whether you truly believe in god so feeble as to be thwarted by a few grams of latex.
Nothing wrong with birth control. And anyone who says that needs to mind their business and stay out of married people's affairs.
No, I do not believe that any of these are sins. Sin happens when someone gets pregnant and then uses abortion as birth control.
I am Roman Catholic so all a sin. I do it naturally.
Dude - have the op. It takes ten minutes, and you don't even have to remove your pants completely.
Are you Roman Catholic? If not, then you should be OK.
SIN!
I shall now commence SHUNNING you!

How long should a couple live together before it is considered a common law marriage?
I am speaking about couple living together and not married.
A) one year
B) three years
C) five years
D) ten years
E) never
Let's just assume no children are involved.
I ask because people say they are afraid of losing half if not more after a divorce. Yet the laws for common marriage basically can do the same thing. Do you agree with common law marriages? How long should a couple live together before it is considered a common law marriage?
I think never.
Yet last year BBC showed a story that in India now, cohabitation for a period of more than 12 months is common law marriage. And a woman can claim rape after sex if they decided to marry in future but did not. And the common law wife gets all the benefits of legal wife. And the country has complete alimony system. How long should a couple live together before it is considered a common law marriage?
The whole question makes me feel a little weird, because on one hand, it's ridiculous that people can have legitimate, recognized marriages that last but a couple of months, yet people who decide not to get the legal recognition of their relationship have to be together longer in order to ';prove'; something. That strikes me as incredibly unfair.
I think the whole idea of common law marriages is becoming wildly difficult to define as we start getting into new views of commitment, cohabitation, and couples choosing not to get married. It's just hard.
I do yeah, if you're living together as a married couple would, you should get the same benefits that married couples do. If it means you also could be fucked in a breakup, then you take that with the good as far as taxes and whatnot.
Three years seems decent, but I like 5 better. Tough call, happy I'm not the one who decided it, really.
I guess 5 feels safer, I'd say 5.
I'm ok with common law marriage, but that is probably because I wouldn't live with someone who wasn't contributing anything. (Nor would I BE someone who wasn't contributing anything.) So splitting things evenly after a breakup would be logical, not unfair. Each takes what was theirs before, and then split what was acquired together. How does that not make sense, except to an extremely greedy person?
I think its seven. I'm fine with that. The common law is mostly for if you have children and what to do after the ';spouse'; passes away. It makes sense to a degree, especially if you have children. I suppose there could be a different law for those couples who DON'T have children.
As far as the government is concerned, never.
Marriage needs to become more of a private sector and religious thing if it is to remain relevant going forward. Until then, I can't recommend either marriage or cohabitation for men in the West.
Most states don't recognize common law marriage anymore...and those that did it was only 7 years.
Personally, I say never. Marriage is marriage...and living together is living together.
E- i don't believe in ';common law marriage'; I think its ludicrous if women think I'm going to pay them to be my ex wife or ex common law wife. Good luck.
I do not agree with common law marriages, I believe in REAL marriages in which someone proposes and the other person accepts and then goes on to make it official.
I don't believe in common law marriages. You either get married or you don't. Make the commitment or don't.
i think it's 7 years here in ky i think people should live together before they get married that's how people know each other.
The minimum. Six months?

What are the first couple of steps in order to start a non-profit organization internationally?
I would like to start one..and i do know that first you have to know in which you are passionate about...homeless, scholarships, etc. I would like to know the specific steps and how to launch it from there. If you have started one, please let me know! Thanks for your help! What are the first couple of steps in order to start a non-profit organization internationally?
Step one is first you must start a LOCAL non-profit and go from there. It is IMPOSSIBLE to start an international one from Day 1, unless you have MILLIONS and MILLIONS of your own dollars at your disposal. Even then, you will incure HEAVY losses until you can get the donation support necessary to support your operations. What are the first couple of steps in order to start a non-profit organization internationally?
non-profit status filing in major countries that you will work in. Donors. A good ';business plan.'; imho...

Can a separated married couple have their own love/romantic life during the separation period?
for a non muslim couple who are planning divorce in malaysia, they need to be separated for a certain period of time. while in separation, can the separated individual get involved with his/her own love life pending the divorce outcome ? will this complicate the divorce procedure or have any implication on the children custody issue ? pls advice...thk you.Can a separated married couple have their own love/romantic life during the separation period?
If you are not legally divorced, then you are committing adultery. There is no in between. Can a separated married couple have their own love/romantic life during the separation period?
yes. there can be complications if legal divorce is not granted.proof of extra-marital relationship will ruin the procedure.without proof and without publicity in the darkness any thing is possible.
Holy God, man, why would you ask a question like this to a bunch of bored American housewives and office workers?
What on earth made you think they would know anything about Malaysian divorce law or Muslim culture?
Jims_bon
Probably a little risky by the sounds of things. But its not illegal I wouldn't imagine, but may well be frowned upon. So best to wait a while.
Seek legal advice - asking here is too risky for advice to take.

We are having a couple for a weekend visit and I need some ideas for some really good meals and snacks-?
that are quick to make but delicious. We don't want to have to be in the kitchen very much as we have lots of visiting and catching up to do. We will do a big country breakfast, but need ideas for lunches and dinners and some luscious snacks. Even the kind I can make ahead would be good. Salads too. Thanks! We are having a couple for a weekend visit and I need some ideas for some really good meals and snacks-?
there are lots of meals you could make ahead.
homemade soups, stews, once they are made you can throw them in the fridge or freezer, bring them out when needed, serve them with a loaf of french bread and everyone is happy.
this is an easy dish that my family enjoys! i use dark meat just because i prefer it, but you can use white, dark, or mix white and dark!
cut your chicken into small pieces. brown in a small amount of olive oil.
remove chicken from pan, drain any excess oil off, but don't wipe pan.
mix a can of cream of chicken soup with a half cup of sour cream. whisk this into the pan, once smooth, add chicken, making sure chicken is covered with sauce.
put into oven at 350' and cook til chicken is done. in the meantime make up a pack of stove top stuffing, top the chicken and sauce mixture with stuffing and pop back in oven til stuffing is hot.
serve with rice, and a loaf of sourdough bread!
=====================
at a party last year and had this pasta salad, it was really very good.
Little ';O'; Salad
1 box of small o-shaped pasta
1 cucumber
2 large sticks celery
real mayonaisse [not miracle whip]

peel cucumber, split into quarters length-wise and remove seeds.
remove strings on the celery sticks.
dice the celery and cucumber into pieces about the same size as the pasta.
mix all together and add real mayo. add seasoning salt to taste and you've got a great salad!
===========================
also you can take a small box of strawberry jello, a half pint of fresh whipping cream. a small tub of frozen strawberries in juice, and a store bought angel food cake and make
strawberry delight
take the angel food cake and rip into small pieces.
mix the jello with one cup of boiling water, make sure you mix til its all dissolved, add the thawed tub of berries and juice, mix well.
whip the whipping cream 'til its ready to form soft peaks, and mix in. now fold in the pieces of angel food cake and put in a pretty glass bowl. into the fridge, let it set, and its ready to go!
==============================
also go to the safeway website and get the recipe for the 2 hour turkey! its fast, its easy and its so tasty!
if you can't find it, email me and i'll send it to you!
hope you have a really great time with your guests!
good luck!We are having a couple for a weekend visit and I need some ideas for some really good meals and snacks-?
Boy -you are getting some great ideas! I hope where you live, the weather is not as scorching as it has been here in the south. For starters, you can enjoy your guests even more if you decide to GRILL!! Grab your meats and peppers and onions and have a great cookout with shish kabob, (chicken, burgers, shrimp, or brauwurst is also great to add) corn and other grilled veggies. Have plenty of pasta salad on hand and some great Heiniken Beer or Channti Ruffino. Another night you might include your guests - have trays of cold cuts with a variety of meats, cheeses, fruit, salads and breads. Order some New York Cheese cake (make your own strawberry or blueberry toppings (start with the frozen and add the real fruit) for choices and enjoy!
Now, being the southerner at heart that I am - my guests could not get away without some of my real down home cooking! You might not want to get ';this deep';, but I am sure your guests would appreciate your hard work - at least give them one night of your heart and soul and kitchen sweat.
Southerners just love dumplings! Make some (there are lots of good recipes on websites) and add your chicken. Let that simmer slowly. Check this out - Southern fried chicken with (gravy!) mac and cheese (the real kind - not boxed), collard and turnip greens mixed (gotta have those knuckles in there for flavor, or salt pork. You can always toss it after the greens have cooked). Sweet potato pone (sweet potato casserole with marshmellows on top), sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions and beets - yeah, boy! (together - drop some vinegar on top and put it in the fridge!) Add some hot water corn bread (recipe on website), some good old sweet lemon-ice tea or kool ade (yes - that's southern style- red preferably) and for dessert - Georgia Pecan Pie, or Peach Cobbler topped with Vanilla Ice Cream! Your guests will not hesitate to return. OR - you can grill again - some real big bones beef and pork - barbeque style - where you make your sauce and use a 'bbq mop' and splash the sauce on and let it 'bake'. That's real barbeque.
I wish I was there - I would be so happy to do all this cooking for you so you could enjoy your guests - but then - they'd want to visit me next time instead of you.....smile
Enjoy your friends- life is so short and true friends are few - you're doing the right thing by wanting to spend time with them. Have fun!
Steam or broil asparagus for about ten minutes, after drizzling with olive oil and salt and pepper. Let cool. Wrap a piece of prociutto around it and dip it in a mayo curry sauce.
Skewer some pre-cooked, peeled and deveined shrimp (tail on variety), place on a bed of lettuce surrounding a bowl of cocktail sauce and each person has their own shrimp cocktail kabob.
Slice up some mozzerella, some fresh tomatos and some artichoke hearts and stick them on a plate lined with fresh basil, drizzle with olive oil or italian dressing and some pepper and salt.
Melon. Ball up any kinds of melon and salt them lightly. Put them in a glass bowl and put that bowl into a larger one filled with ice. Give everyone their own fork and you have a communal (always fun) snack.
There isn't anything faster or tastier than rack of lamb. Smear with garlic butter and bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes (no longer, more than 35 minutes and the lamb will be well done and it will be ruined). Serve with mint jelly and par boiled potatos and fresh veggies.

Raspberry vinnagrette dressing
In most grocery stores they have this prepared puff pastry in the freezer section and you can use it to make snacks or wrap around sausages with cheese sliced into the middle of them... or you can buy a can of those cherry pie filling and cut the pastry into sqaures and dab some cherry onto em and cook em and then when they are done squirt some whipped cream onto them and they are yummy......or even apple pie filling in the bottom of a cake pan and mix some walnuts into it with chocolate chips and caramals cut into half and then lay the pastry in a diamond pattern and put in the oven until the pastry is done and people will eat it and rave (at least my family did) i've done it with fresh apples but cooked the apple cobbler first until almost done and then added the pastry..... buy a package of lil cocktail wieners w cheese and put in a miniture crockpot and put ur favorite bbq sauce and have a plate of cheese and crackers on the side with plenty of napkins of course.........email me if you have any ? have fun!

What was your first couple signs of pregnancy?
I know that everyone's body is different but i was just curious to see how different. So what was your first sign of pregnancy? What was your first couple signs of pregnancy?
My boobs got so sore, I couldn't stand going over the bumps in the road without holding them! What was your first couple signs of pregnancy?
At about 5 weeks before I knew I was pregnant, I felt like I had a temp and was always tired. I was always hot and had to have a cold washcloth on my head. I also could not get enough sleep! I would come straight home from work and hit the couch.
At about 6 weeks, the morning sickness started.
MY MOODS! It was like PMS on crack! I was so moody and grouchy it was ridiculous. I didn't feel anything like myself and my brain felt constantly cluttered. All I did was fight with my boyfriend and after my period was a week late, I got a positive HPT. The other big thing was a huge increase in my appetite! I started eating breakfast after twenty years of not.
Sore breast is a big tell tail. Of course the oops i missed my period is too. The first pregnacy is hard to detect w/o taking a test. But after you have had one child you will know that your body is telling you something. I never had to take a test to tell me i was pregnet after the 1st child.
